QPR striker Matt Smith is says that the clash with Barnsley presents a fine opportunity to get a long-awaited win on the road.

The Hoops are on a run of 11 away games without a victory, and Smith says that the clash with the Tykes is the first in a series of winnable games.

Speaking to GetWestLondon, he said: "If you’re going to have a good season you need to make sure your home form is impeccable, and I think we’ve done a good job of that so far, but we obviously want to take points away from home as well.

"We’ve had difficult away games, but we go to Barnsley and we think on paper that’s a more winnable game than what we’ve had against the Sheffield Wednesday’s and Middlesbroughs of this world.

"There’s a block of games where we think we can get points on the board and we’ll be hoping to do that."
