Martin Allen will face his test since returning to Barnet this week when the Bees welcome Hereford United to the Hive on Saturday, writes Ashley Birch.

The 48-year-old, who is beginning his fourth stint at the club, will be desperate to put an end to Barnet's four game losing streak in order to keep their promotion hopes alive.

They are currently ninth, just one point shy of the play-off zone, but have several fixtures ahead against teams also battling for a spot at Wembley.

Allen won his last game in charge of the Bees, which came on the last day of the 2011-12 season and coincidentally condemned tomorrow's opponents to relegation out of League Two.

To add another interesting element to game, there will be a familiar face in Hereford's dugout after former Bees striker Pete Beadle, who played under Allen in 2003, was named caretaker manager on Thursday.

Beadle stoked the fire ahead of the clash by saying he would 'love to get one over Allen' but he admitted that it would be no easy task.
