Brentford boss Mark Warburton is due to speak to the club in the next few weeks in a bid to thrash out his future.

The former Watford coach, who arrived as assistant to caretaker manager Nicky Forster back in 2011, led the Bees to promotion after taking over from Uwe Rosler in December.

Warburton stepped down from his role as sporting director to take up the hotseat after getting the nod from owner Matthew Benham, but the initial deal was only until the end of the season.

The 51-year-old is busy planning for next campaign and is hoping his own future can be sorted out shortly.

He said: "I will speak to the club soon. Frank McParland is my boss, so I will let him take care of things.

"If they are happy for me to carry on then great. It would be nice to get things sorted in time for the start of pre-season.

"But I believe it's important not to push things. I'm planning for next year as normal."
