Marcus Bettinelli has spoken of his delight at returning to Fulham's starting line-up in their victory over Birmingham City.

The stopper came in to replace David Button in their 1-0 victory over the Blues, and the 24-year-old said it was 'a special moment'.

Speaking to Get West London, he said: "It felt great to be back out there again. There's no better feeling than walking out and hearing the crowd responding to your name. It's always a special moment for me.

"It took me a little while to get into the game, the first couple of kicks were a little bit off but at the end of the day I've been out for a while and today wasn't about me, it was about winning and that's what we did.

Our problem over the last couple of years has been that we've scored goals but haven't been able to see games out, but I can't tell you how well our defence has done. It's something that we've been working on and we need to get a little better at, but we were terrific at that and it's a positive that we can take into Sunderland next week."
