TOKYNGTON MANOR got their Spartan South Midlands League Division One campaign off to a flier with a 4-1 triumph at Brache Sparta.

Andy Watson's early brace put Manor in the driving seat and he should have completed his hat-trick before Carl Drewe replied for the hosts 20 minutes before half time.

Sparta hit the post during the early exchanges of the second half and this appeared to spark Manor into life after suffering a lull.

Tim Maynard threaded an inch-perfect pass through to Tim Ajegunmodi who calmly lobbed the Sparta goal-keeper to restore Manor's two goal advantage.

Dan Owen put the gloss on a fine display for Manor, relegated from the Premier Division last season, with a last minute header.

"It was a good result and we created a lot of good opportunities," said Manor boss Matt Oliver. "We feel that we can play and need to play a lot better than we did. We have come a long way in a short space of time but all that effort was just to get us to the starting line. Now the hard work really begins."

This Saturday Manor play Biggleswade United in the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round at Yeading (3pm kick off).

* RAYNERS LANE open their FTL Futbol Hellenic Division One East campaign with the visit of Wokingham & Emmbrook on Saturday (3pm).

And manager Marvin Hall is quietly confident they can improve on last season's lowly position having boosted his squad's fitness levels with a goal-packed pre-season campaign.

Hall has also strengthened his back-room staff with Vince Waterhouse becoming his assistant, Keith Isles a coach and Stephen Graham as fitness advisor and physio.

Hall is hoping Ian Jones can recapture the form he showed for the Lane before moving to Bedfont for last season. The striker hit 37 goals in the 2006/07 season and will be looking for similar good service this time around.

Rayners Lane are at home again next Tuesday where they will entertain Chinnor (6.30pm). [25a0] KINGSBURY London Tigers followed up Saturday's goalless draw at Biggleswade United with a 2-0 home win over Kentish Town on Tuesday night.

Edson Cata and Henry Emenike scored in the Spartan South Midlands Premier Division clash.

The Tigers host Colney Heath this Saturday.
