Fulham will lose Lucas Piazon for six-eight weeks after he suffered a fractured jaw and his boss believes it will be a massive loss for the club.

The Brazilian playmaker suffered the injury when he clashed with Cardiff’s Kadeem Harris at the weekend and was subsequently subbed off in South Wales.

And now Slavisa Jokanovic is tasked with replacing the 23-year-old in his line-up ahead of the Preston game, and although he thinks he is losing an important part of his squad he has the players available to replace him.

He said: "It’s a big loss for us, Lucas offered us important things during the season and he was an important man in our offensive work.

"He is tactically very clever and he was generous in the game and working hard without the ball to.

"We will miss him but this is part of football - he will be ready in April to help us in some of the last games in the Championship.

"Piazon was an important part of my squad and I used him from the beginning, and from the bench too.

"It’s part of the game and other people will try to do what he made for us, it’s a big loss but there’s enough quality in the squad to replace him and to offer us something similar or something different, depending on the situation."
