Joe Lewis has found he has a new lease of life at Fulham after a difficult year with Blackpool last season.

The Tangerines' problems have been well documented and the Cardiff loanee even had to wear a shirt signed by him against Reading, which was meant to be put aside for a club sponsor but there were no spares left.

The 28-year-old joined Fulham on a season long loan in the summer and has found himself enjoying his time at Craven Cottage.

Lewis said: “It's a very well run club. It's an easy dressing room to slot into with a lot of good lads. I knew a few lads from previous clubs.

“It's easy when you know people like that. They look after the players really well. It's nothing alien to me. I've been at a few clubs now. I'm used to the changing surroundings.

He added: “I felt for the Blackpool fans because the club was all over the place. As people could see from the outside, it was a bit unstable and the fans weren't enjoying it at all.

“Hopefully they can turn it around but it's nice to be at a stable club like Fulham.”

Unhappier times: Joe Lewis at Blackpool

Fulham are currently on the hunt for a new manager after parting company with Kit Symons with Peter Grant in temporary charge and Lewis has faith in the club to make the right decision.

The keeper said: “The club is trying to find a manager and they'll do what is best for Fulham.

“We get told at a similar time to everyone else. At a lot of clubs I've found out on Sky Sports News.

“We found out before everyone else here. I'm sure when the club is ready to appoint someone and I'm sure it'll be as soon as possible.”

Preston visit Craven Cottage on Saturday and boast one of the meanest defences in the Championship, while Fulham are the leading goalscorers in the division.

Lewis said: “It'll be a very tough game. Preston are a good club and the manager has done really well there.

“There are no easy games in this league. Defensively they've been strong this season and we've been good going forward.”
