Fulham nearly made it four wins out of four against Leeds thanks to a tremendous second-half shot from Tom Cairney.

But a perfect record was ruined in the final seconds when Chris Wood brought relief to the United faithful with a terrific overhead kick in the box.

As satisfactory as a point was, eyes were riveted on Ryan Sessegnon making his Championship debut at Leeds with an assurance way beyond his 16 years and 90 days.

He isn't the youngest White to pull on the shirt.

Matthew Briggs did that at 25 days younger in 2007, but now plies his trade with lowly Colchester United.

If this performance is anything to go by, Sessegnon is more likely to become the new Paul Parker rather than a League Two player.

Tottenham are reportedly interested in him, but the game was won when Cairney arched the ball into the bottom corner from outside the box on 77 minutes to maintain the dream start.

Great hit: Tom Cairney

Early on, Floyd Ayite's flying header glanced just wide after a clever right-foot cross from Sessegnon.

Tomas Kalas was then caught on his heels to allow Marcus Antonsson a race on goal only to slide the ball past the post when he should have scored.

That let off was enough to galvanise Fulham when Sone Aluko got the better of former QPR keeper Rob Green. But as the Whites forward rounded him wide he was clattered by a flailing arm - but got no penalty.

A terrific flowing move saw Ayite back heel into Aluko's path to fire against the inside of the post, only to see the ball scrambled away.

Bad night: Robert Green

A Leeds centre flashed across the face of goal but Antonsson missed a great chance at the near post to put Leeds ahead.

As the game came to life, Matt Smith smashed the base of the post from a corner with a thumping header to leave the keeper rooted.

Denis Odoi got his third yellow card in as many games for a dragback on Kemar Roofe, and Leeds kept David Button busy with a decent effort from Pablo Hernandez.

But when Cairney turned and fired home from all of 20 yards, it looked like being a great night for Sessegnon, and even better for the gaffer Slavisa Jokanovic. Today is the Serb's 48th birthday.

But half his candles were blown out when Woods scored right at the death.
