ANDREW WALKER'S last-gasp strike ensured Wembley continued their encouraging start to the season with victory on Tuesday night.

Walker pounced in the last minute after getting on the end of Marc Talbot's pass from player-manager Ian Bates's free kick.

Jumo Mitchell went close in the first half for the hosts but his drive was pushed onto the post by Egham stop-per Clark Gooding. It was then the turn of Wembley's goalkeeper, Richard McCabe to take centre stage as he produced a superb instinctive save as Town pushed for the opener.

McCabe then got away with flapping at a cross in the second half before Walker scored at the death.

On Saturday Wembley's travel sickness showed no signs of easing after they opened their Combined Counties League Premier Division season with a stalemate against new boys Molesey.

Some might regard a point against last season's relegated Rymans League outfit as encouraging, however Wembley's profligacy in front of goal is nothing new. Last season they won just once away from home and

had failed to hit the net in their previous four outings while Molesey's route through the trap door was aided by a dismal home record.
