Lasse Vibe insists his body remains up to the rigours of Championship football, despite not having an off-season in over a year.

The Dane hasn't scored since the 4-2 win over Huddersfield before Christmas and has repeatedly looked isolated up front.

Having played regular football for over a year, it'd be fair to say Vibe has a case to be exhausted but he maintained that he can keep going.

The Brentford striker said: “I'm feeling okay. I didn't play last week. I feel fresh. I didn't play 90 minutes. I know I've played a lot of games but my body is still fine and I feel I can keep going.”

Brentford were beaten 3-1 on Saturday by Derby as the Rams made Alan Judge's goal redundant with three strikes in the final 10 minutes.

And Vibe felt the Bees were unlucky to be on the receiving end of a heavy defeat after David Button helped them weather a first half storm.

He added: “It was a bit tough in the first half but we got the game where we wanted it. I thought we controlled it quite well and got the goal we needed.

“I thought we looked solid and looked dangerous on the counter. They got a lucky goal – we've conceded loads of them.

Needs some luck: Lasse Vibe

“It's just unlucky. I don't know if it hits his hand or if he's offside but they score and the game turns around. It's just one of those things.”

The last three games have not made for pleasant viewing from a Brentford perspective with three defeats and 10 goals conceded but Vibe insisted Saturday's defeat was more down to luck and is determined to put things right against Wolves on Tuesday.

He explained: “We've looked into it and I thought we closed them down. We were just unlucky.

“We've got a chance to put it right against Wolves. We've been playing top six teams so hopefully it's a chance to crack on.”
