There will be fingers crossed at Stamford Bridge this week that the FA see things the same way Frank Lampard does.

Namely, that John Terry’s dismissal during Chelsea’s win over Manchester City on Saturday will be overturned and the Blues defender will be able to resume his place for the clash with City’s rivals, Manchester United, on Sunday.

In a west London world of something-to-one wins this weekend, Chelsea came from a goal down to win 3-1 but Lampard hopes his mate Terry can also make it a Manchester double next weekend.

He said: “Hopefully they'll look at it again and make it a yellow. It's not a red when there's two men behind the ball. If not, we could miss him for three games. It's just a block-off challenge.”
