FRANK LAMPARD has given Chelsea a huge cup final day boost by revealing he does not intend to bail out on the Blues in the summer.

The 33-year-old, who has been the heartbeat of Chelsea's midfield during a golden era, had a patchy start to the season, with Andre Villas-Boas using him more sparingly than his predecessors.

But his form and influence have returned with a vengeance under Roberto Di Matteo and he says he is happy to stick around next season.

“I've got another year on my contract and I want to see it out,” Lampard said.

“I'm very pleased to have been involved and pleased to have played somewhere near my top form, especially when I've had the chance, in the second half of the season.

“I never felt like I was legs going or anything like that, I just felt that I wanted to play regularly and I've really enjoyed these last few months. I certainly don't want to finish any time soon.”

Lampard has also revealed that he draws strengths from Man United's veteran players and says it has fuelled his belief he could have a good few years left in the tank - paving the way for a new deal.

“The players at Man United are ones I look up to,” he said. “When I see Ryan Giggs or Paul Scholes put in a great performance, or score a goal, I think 'thank god for that,' because it shows people you can do it even at their age.

“I'm sure when he was 33, Ryan Giggs was written off by someone in the press, or the fans or whatever and he came back stronger, that's part of football.

“I feel as fit as 10 years ago. I certainly feel more experienced in terms of my movement on the pitch. I don't say that every game I feel a million dollars, but I didn't when I was 24. Some games you go out and don't feel as good as in another one.

"But I think the good thing about experience and age is that you understand how to approach a game, rather than just try to bomb about when your legs aren't quite as sharp. I think I've got more know-how.”
