Niko Kranjcar reckoned his equaliser that earned QPR a point against Stoke was one of the best goals he’s ever scored.

The midfielder has notched 63 others in a six-club career, but revealed his last-gasp free-kick was only the second ever from a dead ball situation.

However, if Kranjcar was awarding marks for an overall performance, the added comment would be ‘could do better.’

“Our finishing and decision making in the final third wasn’t the best,” he said. “And we were disappointed in the way we conceded the second.

“If I get an answer as to why we’re a different side at home to away I hope I’ll tell the gaffer during the week. But really, our work ethic was second to none, and the starting basis of what our game has to be.

“We showed character and spirit coming back from ahead. As for my fitness: I still got a little bit more to make up, although I'm pleased with the progress after two games.”
