Mark Warburton singled out Alan Judge for praise on a night when Brentford kept their immaculate home run going.

The midfielder was full of energy on a sapping pitch and crowned an eye-catching display with the second goal of the night in a 3-1 win against Bristol City.

“When he first came in, his energy levels were down – way down compared to the rest of the squad – and he's worked really hard,” said the Bees manager said of the loan signing from Blackburn..

“In the last two or three weeks, he's put his head down in training and now he's getting back up to the [right] level. He'll say there's still more to come, which there is, but I thought he was tremendous tonight.

“He's a real talent. He cuts in, goes outside. He's clever on the ball. He's strong, he's physical, and defended well as well so I'm delighted for him.

“I think he's enjoying his football and playing with a smile on his face. I'm pleased he scored tonight because he's had a few shots of late and he's been unlucky with a few efforts. I thought tonight he was excellent.”

Reflecting on another highly satisfying night for the League One table-toppers, Warburton added: “A little bit deep first 10-15 minutes, but the players noticed that, corrected it and I thought we finished that first half very strongly.

“We were very creative, created a lot of chances and I thought we were good value for 3-1.

“They [City]went very long but we won first balls and I thought we looked dominant in very difficult conditions. Tempo was good and I was really pleased with the result.”
