Jonathan Douglas is desperate for another crack at the Premier League.

The veteran Brentford midfielder got a taste of the big time with tonight’s opponents Blackburn at the beginning of his career and could get another chance to grace the top-tier with the promotion-chasing Bees.

Douglas, 33, said: “To come over from Ireland as a young lad and play in the Premier League was good and hopefully I can get back there one day.

“You’re always hopeful you will get another opportunity. I’ve been fortunate enough to play in a couple of good teams that almost got there again.

“I got beaten in the play-off final with Leeds, so hopefully we can go one step further here. It’s extra motivation.

“It’s a tough league and there’s a long way to go. We’re taking it a game at a time and see where we end up.”
