Martin Jol fears he could be sacked if Fulham lose against fellow strugglers West Ham United tomorrow.

The Cottagers have lost five-straight games in all competitions - a dismal run of results that has turned up the heat on the under-fire Dutchman.

Jol brought in compatriot Rene Meulensteen in a bid to address the slide, but the duo couldn't prevent Fulham slumping to defeat against Swansea last time out.

And the manager admits he would be left fearing the worst if they get beaten at Upton Park.

Asked if his job is safe, Jol replied: "If we win, yeah. If we don’t, I don’t know. If I was on the board or an owner I would be worrying."

The former Spurs chief says he hasn't spoken to owner Shahid Khan about his future, but knows they must start winning, and quickly.

But Jol reckons victory at in east London would kick-start their season and help them climb away from trouble.

He added: "'You don’t have to talk to an owner to be aware of the fact we need points to get back to a winning culture and a little bit of stability.

"You can lose once or twice but you can’t lose four of five times on the trot because that will put you in a bad position.

"I think one win will get us back among others and take the pressure off then hopefully we can have a good run like last year."
