Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was pleased to see Ariel Borysiuk make his QPR debut in their 2-1 win over Rochdale.

The Polish winger missed the start of the campaign after sustaining an ankle injury in pre-season training.

And he was passed fit to face League One Rochdale on Tuesday night, playing an hour before he was replaced by Massimo Luongo.

And the Dutchman was pleased to see his summer acquisition make an appearance on the Loftus Road pitch.

Hasselbaink said: “It was nice to see Ariel back. He was very unfortunate with his injury. He was good. You have seen that him a bit now.

More please: Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink

“He likes a tackle and to be on the front foot. He plays with his heart. It's nice to see him getting fit.”

QPR's squad size is slim so Borysiuk may feature against Wigan on Saturday but Rangers will arrange games during the international break to help get him up to speed.

Hasselbaink added: “I don't have the luxury to give him a game in the U23s. In the international break, we'll look to play a few games behind closed doors to get him as many minutes as possible.”
