QPR gaffer Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was as much pleased by the resilience of his defence when Leeds were on the attack as he was by lunchtime's 3-0 win.

Hoops have buckled in the past when put under the cosh, and when United had a couple of spells in the ascendancy, one near the end of the first half, Rs stood rock solid.

Two second half goals from Tjaronn Chery's penalty and Seb Polter, to go with the early opener suggested better thing to come, although JFH wasn't getting carried away despite the handsome win.

He said: "It helps when you score early because you settle down.

"When you've got the goal it's what you do next as well. In the latter end of the first half we suffered a bit, but that's also a good thing -you learn thing about your team.

"At half time we had to put things right in the second half we controlled it.

"It's now can we get consistency in our performances, but let's not get carried away, guys - it's only one match."
