Chelsea plan to dominate Arsenal on-pitch in tomorrow night's League Cup clash, says Branislav Ivanovic.

But the Serbian says he cannot say if the north London club are viable challengers for silverware in the Premier League.

Blues take on Arsenal at The Emirates, just two days after their last-gasp league win over Manchester City.

And Ivanovic says Chelsea plan on advancing in the competition.

“It’s not a league game, but it’s a good challenge,” said the defender.

“With this squad, we have to go into every game looking to win and try to dominate. For sure we want to go there and qualify for the next round.”

But asked if Arsenal will be challenging for the league title come May, Ivanovic was more reluctant to make predictions.

“It’s very difficult to say and I don’t like to speak about opposition teams,” he said. “We have a strong enough squad if we stay at this level to be competitive.

“We will see. The champions aren’t decided now.

“The points difference at the top of the table is difficult to look at right now. For us it’s just important to keep getting results.

“We have to be focused on the table but also each game because the next (league game at Newcastle) is so difficult.

“We haven’t played well there in the last two years so it’s going to be a great challenge for us.”
