SPARTAN PREMIER LEAGUE LONDON TIGERS............2 Berkhamsted Town..........................3
Tigers were left cursing the ones that got away as they crashed to a surprise defeat at the hands of Berkhamsted, writes Mick Wilkins.
There was no sign of the upset when Edson Cata and Isaac Mopi combined to set up Marco Tagbajumi for the lead.
But the Maida Vale side were rocked on their heels when the visitors levelled, and then went ahead with an audacious 30-yard lob after Berkhamsted's Ashley Addison spotted keeper Siki Kambala off his line.
It was all to play for when Adriano Gomes Marques and Mopi again provided the ammunition for Cata to fire a fizzer the keeper could only help into the net.
But when the Herts team went ahead on 55 minutes, all the huffing and puffing from Tino So Jalo, Cata and the rest of the Tigers' late offensive still couldn't find the equaliser.
MIDDLESEX DIVISION ONE CUP NORTH KENSINGTON.......................3 Hillingdon Abbots.............................3 (North Ken win 4-2 on penalties)
NORTH KEN were behind twice in normal and extra-time - but still won the tie at the final shoot-out.
A Liam Clement second-half brace brought Ken back into it after they had gone 2-0 down.
Although Hillingdon then had a player dismissed, the visitors went ahead for the second time in the added 30 minutes.
Aman Tensue's free-kick on 117 minutes caused havoc in the Hillingdon box, and Daniel Joseph was on hand to head home into an empty net.
Kensington heads lifted when Abbotts missed their first shoot-out penalty, and Tensue, Clement, Nelson Smith and Madalitso Mkoloma all converted before Hillingdon blasted wide on their vital fourth kick.
