Antonio Conte seems to be having second thoughts about the complexion of his Chelsea backroom staff.

Conte will take over the Blues reins from Guus Hiddink this summer after leading out Italy at Euro 2016 in France.

The Azzurri head coach is looking to bring some of his trusted colleagues with him to west London and the details of their contracts are still being ironed out.

However, sources in Italy have indicated Conte may be cutting back on the number of coaching staff who will be joining him in the Stamford Bridge dugout.

Defensive coach Massimo Carrera looks to be the man who will definitely be missing out while scout Mauro Sandreani’s Chelsea deal looks to be in the balance.

Sandreani has worked with Conte as a talent scout and assistant to the Italian since 2013 after an extensive managerial and playing career.

The 61-year-old has 20 years managerial experience under his belt taking charge Torino, Empoli and Treviso to name a few.

In 2006, Sandreani was appointed as head of scout at Juventus before catching Conte's eye and becoming an integral part of his backroom staff, but it now seems that the pair might go separate ways after this summer's Euros.

Carrera has been the defensive guru for Conte's sides since he was reunited with his Juventus team-mate at the club in 2011.

During Conte's 10-month match fixing ban, Carrera stepped in to manage Juve before following his boss to the national side in 2014.

Recruits? Massimo Carrera, Antonio Conte, Angelo Alessio and Daniele Conte

Carrera spent his 28-year career playing as a full-back or sweeper and his wealth of defensive experience could have been useful to Conte at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea goalkeeping coach Christophe Lollichon’s future at the club could also be in doubt after claims Thibaut Courtois is unhappy working with the Frenchman.

Lollichon was favoured by former Blues custodian Petr Cech but it is thought Courtois does not enjoy his trainer’s methods at Cobham.

Courtois has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain but this week rubbished suggestions he could head to the French champions.
