Chelsea's players will be travelling the equivalent of two and a half times round the world to represent their countries during the October international break.

A total of 68,281 miles will be racked up by Blues players, more than all but two Premier League sides - Manchesters City and United.

The club's South American contingent are the main reason behind the huge distances being travelled.

Brazilian's Oscar and Willian face round trips of 14,601 miles each.

The Selecao's first game is against Chile in the Chilean capital, Santiago. They'll then be heading up to Fortaleza in Northeastern Brazil to take on Venezuela before flying back to Chelsea.

Colombia call-up: Radamel Falcao

Colombian star Falcao faces a 15,231 mile round trip heading from London to Barranquilla, Colombia, then to Montevideo in Uruguay before heading back to the English capital.

Manchester City are top of the air miles league though.

Their players will rack up a combined total of 88,011 miles between them.

Amongst their ranks are four Argentinian players who each face a 13,960 mile round trip to represent their country. From Manchester they first headed to Buenos Aires to take on Ecuador. Their next match is in Asuncion, Paraguay to take on Paraguay before then heading back to Manchester.

Just behind City are their bitter rivals Manchester United whose players face a combined total of 74,180 miles.

Theirs too is largely down to their South American players.

Samba star: Oscar of Chelsea

Antonio Valencia faces a 15,323 mile round trip to play for his country, Ecuador. Their first game is in Buenos Aires against Argentina. Then from there to he flies up to the Ecuadorian capital Quito to take on Bolivia before heading all the way back to Manchester.

Arsenal are in fourth with 58,686 miles, followed by West Brom (47,610miles), Swansea (46,741 miles) and Sunderland (45,399 miles).

The figures assume that direct flights will be taken between each city in which the matches are being played, and only for players who were still in their nation's senior squad at the time of writing. Players who have since pulled out will still be included.
