Mahamadou Diarra has been an important part of Brentford's squad, even if he's unlikely to feature for the Bees this season.

Konstantin Kerschbaumer has found the Mali international, who spent five seasons at Real Madrid, a big presence to train with.

And the Austrian has found him enjoyable to work with and his attitude has rubbed off on him.

The midfielder said: “He's really important for the squad. He's got a great attitude every day and commitment and he's funny to train with and he's got good experience to tell us and a great player and person.”

Kerschbaumer has looked to extract as much information as possible from the veteran midfielder.

“He always tells us about his Real Madrid stories and Champions League experiences. It's good to have a big person about him,” he added.

“The main thing I've heard is just to work hard every day and be focused on the games. That's what he did all the time and remain focused for the whole season. That's what he's told me.”
