Chelsea striker Diego Costa has found himself in the media spotlight again this season - but not for just scoring goals.

Blues boss Jose Mourinho revealed he had made up with the Brazil-born Spain frontman with "kisses and cuddles" following a half-time bust-up during Tuesday night's 4-0 Champions League win over Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel.

Press Association Sport takes a look at how some of the 27-year-old numbers stack up to last season, when his 20 goals helped fire Chelsea to the Premier League title.

GOALS

This time last season, Costa had bagged 11 Premier League goals as the Blues laid down a marker for what would be a sustained assault on the championship. In 2015/2016 so far, however, the Spain international has only three league goals (and one in the Champions League). His strike to give Chelsea a 1-0 win over Norwich at Stamford Bridge on Saturday was his first since mid-October.

MINUTES PER GOAL & CONVERSION RATIO

It took Costa some 99.8 minutes on the pitch between goals at this stage last season. Now, that statistic is up way to 356.3. Perhaps as a consequence, the striker's accuracy is also way down from what it was in 2014/2015 - at 11.8% from 26.2%.

SHOTS PER 90 MINUTES

Over the same number of league matches in 2014/2015, Costa would take some 3.44 shots per 90 minutes played. This season, it is 2.15. Could it be the constant tussle with defenders is beginning to take Costa's eye off the ball?

SHOTS ON TARGET

At this stage last season, Costa tested the goalkeeper with 2.21 shots on target per 90 minutes, twice as often as he has been doing in 2015/2016, which has dropped to 1.01.
