AFC Wimbledon boss Neal Ardley has a plethora of attacking options at his disposal after bolstering the ranks with the additions of Lyle Taylor and Tom Elliot.

The duo, alongside Adebayo Akinfenwa and Adebayo Azeez, have combined to create a selection headache for Ardley - a problem he is happy to have.

But the manager is determined not to become a "one-trick pony" with his tactics, and after starting the season with a 3-4-3, has reverted to a basic 4-4-2 formation.

This means that the awesome foursome of attacking talent will have to be managed carefully, and we take a look at how each forward can help the team.

Lyle Taylor

The former Bournemouth man is blessed with both an abundance of height and pace. He is a poacher, whose quick movement and finishing ability has helped him score goals.

He gambles on opportunities and plays on the shoulder of the last defender - which is what Wimbledon are also trying to teach Elliott.

Dons boss Neal Ardley initially used Taylor alongside fellow strikers Akinfenwa and Elliot as he looked to utilise his favoured 3-4-3 formation.

After a failed gamble against Crawley Town though, reverting to a 4-4-2 formation saw his charges come out with all the points - with Taylor leading the line alongside Akinfenwa.

He was sent off in Saturday's draw with Mansfield.

Adebayo Akinfenwa

As the world’s strongest footballer, Akinfenwa is unsurprisingly seen as the hold-up man.

His presence as a striker continues to terrorise defenders across League Two, and with the ability to keep the ball away from opposition clutches, he relieves the pressure on his team.

In any formation that Ardley uses, Akinfenwa is his go-to man having scored 15 goals last season in 47 appearances for the Dons.

Adebayo Azeez

Eye on the ball: Ade Azeez

The 21-year-old forward provides further pace for the Dons, but has still to figure out his long-term role.

Ardley stated upon his arrival that he wanted him to learn from Matt Tubbs and Akinfenwa and become a different option.

"We wanted the third forward to be a young striker who we could develop with different attributes,” he said.

Scoring six goals for the Dons last season, Azeez has shown that he is starting to find his feet but the forward seems to be furthest down the pecking order.

Tom Elliott

Target man: Tom Elliott

Signed during the summer, Elliot is another who provides an imposing option in attack for Wimbledon.

As a powerful forward who is just as apt at challenging for headers as he is at running in behind defenders, Ardley sees the forward as an ideal alternative to Akinfenwa.

The tall 24-year-old has been brought in both for his current ability and his potential to improve - with Ardley determined to see him develop.

Opened the scoring at the weekend in Mansfield.
