Roy Hodgson has named Chelsea pair Gary Cahill and Frank Lampard in his England squad for this summer’s 2014 World Cup.

The experienced duo are two of the 23 players picked by the Three Lions manager for next month’s tournament in Brazil.

Veteran of 107 caps, Ashley Cole, will not be joining them on the plane.

He announced his decision to quit international football last night after Hodgson called the left-back to inform him he would be selecting Luke Shaw and Leighton Baines.

Meanwhile, former Brent schoolboy Raheem Sterling has also made the cut.

The full England squad for Brazil is as follows: Joe Hart, Ben Foster, Fraser Forster, Leighton Baines, Gary Cahill,  Phil Jagielka, Glen Johnson, Phil Jones, Luke Shaw, Chris Smalling, Ross Barkley, Steven Gerrard, Jordan Henderson, Adam Lallana, Frank Lampard, James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Raheem Sterling, Jack Wilshere, Ricky Lambert, Wayne Rooney, Daniel Sturridge and Danny Welbeck.
