Henrik Dalsgaard has promised Brentford fans that he will be keen to drive Brentford forward from his right back role.

The Dane made the move to Griffin Park earlier this summer and impressed going forward against Aldershot and Oxford United.

And he is keen to be replicating those displays once the season starts properly against Sheffield United in a fortnight's time.

He said: “Hopefully a load of running. I think the way I played against Aldershot is my kind of play.

“I want to use my speed and physique. I think I showed the kind of style I like to play against Aldershot. I like to get forward.”

Dalsgaard has been forewarned by Bees and Denmark team-mate Lasse Vibe about the demands of the Championship and he hopes his experiences at Zulte Waregem will stand him in good stead.

He added: “I'm happy that I had one and a half seasons in Belgium it's a bit the same whereas we have a three-month break in winter.

“It's going to be difficult, especially mentally. Lasse mentioned that in his first season he got mentally tired in January and February.

“That's why we do the preparation now to make sure my body is all right to go 46 games.”
