Harrow kept their hopes of progressing in the FA Cup alive by earning a replay from a very tricky tie at high-flying British Gas Business Premier Division side Hemel Hempstead Town.

David Howell rang the changes, leaving out Lee Hall, Rickey Browne, Daniel McGonigle, Kwasi Frempong and Kai Williams. In came Blake Goodman, Danny Leech, Bobby Highton, Jamie Lawrence and, on his return to the club, Dewayne Clarke.

Hemel opened on the front foot and Andray Baptiste was forced to take two early catches under pressure but it was who Boro failed to convert the best of the early chances when Darren Grieves got in front of his marker to meet a fine Highton near-post cross, sending his powerful header inches wide.

Shortly after, with 15 minutes left of the first half, Clarke set up Jonathan Constant for a shot that was turned round and from the resulting corner, Harrow went ahead.

Constant's near-post delivery was met simultaneously by Hemel keeper Brown's fists and Boro captain Walters' head - the ball going in off the Harrow skipper to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.

Harrow then suffered a blow when a bloodied Grieves had to leave the field after a clash of heads.

A deep wound needed 10 stitches and the front man faces two weeks on the sidelines.

Although his replacement, Kurt Morlese, worked very hard, Borough lost a focal point for their attacks and after 42 minutes, the Tudors levelled. Working back in defence, Constant made a badly timed challenge on Martin, and Deeney sent Baptiste the wrong way from the resulting penalty.

Constant had a great chance to make amends in the 52nd minute when he was clear with Brown to beat, but his shot lacked power and the home keeper saved comfortably.

Both sides had half chances to take the tie but a couple of decent saves and fumbled strikes meant the game ended 1-1 - taking the game to a replay tomorrow night, where the two sides will battle it out again at Earlsmead.
