Hampton & Richmond Borough's young guns will have the chance to stake a claim for next season over the Easter Weekend.

Tommy Brewer, Charlie Moone and Dave Tarpey are all suspended for Satutrday's trip to AFC Hornchurch and Monday's home game with Dulwich Hamlet, while James Simmonds will be away.

With Billy Jeffreys, Karle Andrews, Belal Aite Ouakrim and Marcus Rose all on the treatment table too, boss Paul Barry will be throwing some of his talented youngsters into the fray against the play-off chasing duo.

The Beavers go into the Ryman Premier double header on the back of a dramatic 4-3 win over another play-off hopeful, Bognor Regis, on Tuesday night, in which Moone's hat-trick took his season's tally to 40.

This followed Saturday's dire 1-0 defeat to struggling Thamesmead – with defeats like that to lesser lights, and wins over big boys like Bognor encapsulating Hampton's season.

Barry said: “We have a talented squad, but we just lack consistency because we have so many young players. We can go toe to toe with teams who play football against us, but struggle against those who try to win ugly.

“We should be in a better place next season when the younger lads have another year's experience of playing at this level under their belts, and some of our youngsters have the perfect chance to show this weekend just how ready they are.”
