Brentford's squad piled praise onto wing wizard Jota after his dramatic hat-trick against Rotherham United on Saturday.

The Spaniard opened the scoring after 13 minutes and then scored a penalty in the 92nd before rounding off a 4-2 win with the last kick of the game to take home the match ball.

It has been a remarkable return for the man known as 'King Jota' who has scored six goals and set up three more in the last seven games for the Bees.

The 25-year-old has given the club a new lease of live since his recall from his loan spell at Eibar, which came about due to personal issues.

And the Brentford squad paid tribute to the hero of the hour against the Millers. Below is a selection of comments on Jota.

“He's a very good footballer and adds a different dimension to our team. We're glad to have him back.

“His assists and goals speak for themselves. He's a big attribute for our team and is a good player to play alongside.

“We'd organised that before the game. He even had a little slip which got me worried but it found the net so we'll take the six points from this week and move on.”

“He's a special player and he makes the difference a lot of the time. That's what you need as a team when you work hard, you need a player that makes a difference and he's that player.

“When I signed he got injured in the first game and he had personal issues and now he doesn't.

“He tries every day to be in a good mood and I think that's the difference and you see on the pitch he's in a good move, always positive and playing well.

“At the moment, we're doing well with the wingers, with Jota, Florian (Jozefzoon), Sergi (Canos) and (Josh) Clarke. With the wingers, that's good for our game.”

“When we've got players like Nico (Yennaris) and Jota adding to the goals, it shows we're getting goals from everywhere.”
