Alex Kacaniklic has not featured for Fulham under Peter Grant because of the other options available to him.

The 24-year-old Swede last featured for the Whites in Kit Symons' last game in charge and was not in the matchday squad against MK Dons or Preston.

And Grant is happy with his other options to play in Fulham's midfield, meaning Kacaniklic has been outside the squad.

The interim boss said: “Kacaniklic has been in and out because when I came in I felt we had similar players. I had to balance the bench.”

Absent: Dan Burn

Dan Burn was also left out of the squad for the draw with Preston after playing at stadium:mk with Grant partnering Richard Stearman and Tim Ream together as he went from a back five to a back four for the draw at Craven Cottage.

And the boss explained that it was about having cover for Stearman, who has been struggling with injury in recent weeks.

Grant explained: “Burn has been in and out and that is maybe through the system. We changed it last week as Richard Stearman was struggling.”

Lasse Vigen Christensen has also been missing as well from the Fulham side but this is because of injury.

Grant explained: “Christensen has been injured after the international break. It's been difficult. Every club has injuries.

“We've got to deal with them and manage them properly. The pleasing thing is the attitude the players have put in on the training pitch. They want to play the games so great credit to them.”

Fulham have injury concerns ahead of tomorrow's trip to Nottingham Forest with Moussa Dembele among those Grant has concerns over.
