Kaspars Gorkss insists sentiment will go out of the window when he returns to QPR tomorrow.

The Reading defender made 124 appearances during his three years at Loftus Road, helping the Hoops to the Championship title in 2011.

However, he is back in W12 with the Royals reeling from last weekend’s defeat to Sheffield Wednesday, and hopes to boost his side’s play-off chances.

Happy memories: Gorkss was part of QPR's 2011 Championship-winning side

He said: “That’s the first fixture I look for before the season. I had three very good years there, so it’s always special to go back.

"But we need to get back to winning ways and I'll be going there to get a result. I can be sentimental after the game!”

Gorkss, who scored against QPR twice in as many games last season, added: "It would be the perfect scenario if we both got promoted.”
