Gordon Bartlett is keen for Wealdstone to end their home campaign on a high when they take on Whitehawk.

The Stones endured a difficult start in the Conference South but found their feet and have secured survival.

And he is keen to do the double over the Hawks who are pushing for the final play-off spot.

He said: “They're a very good footballing side. We got a 1-0 win there but it was a tremendous defensive performance.

“We beat them once and we're hoping to do the double over them. It's about what we can do on the day. We lacked spark on Monday against Ebbsfleet so we need to put that right.”

The club have designated it a family day, with children gaining free admission, and the Wealdstone squad will be giving the Stones' youth teams some coaching sessions.

Party: Wes Parker, Jefferson Louis and Luke O'Nien celebrate on Saturday

And Bartlett is keen to make sure the day is a success in the main event at 3pm.

He said: “The lads are in on Saturday morning and we're taking some coaching sessions for the youth teams and most of the players are coming in.

“We want it to be a good family day and what better way to do it than finishing off our home season with a win.

“Our home form has not been as good as we wanted it to be. I think we'd be in the play-offs if we could do replicate our away from at home.

“I think we've got to be satisfied from where we were in October but we'd love to finish on a high.”

Gordon Hill, known as The Wealdstone Raider
Wealdstone Raider: Gordon Hill

Wealdstone are also giving fans the chance to take selfies with Gordon Hill, the 'Wealdstone Raider.'

It was against Whitehawk when Hill uttered the now famous phrase 'If you want some I'll give it ya' and has now seen him at darts and release a song for charity.

The builder has, at times, regretted going to that game as his celebrity status affected his life, however Bartlett praised the way the 'Raider' has handled himself over the past year.

He added: “It's raised the profile of the club and generated a lot of interest. It's raised money for charity and those few words against Whitehawk two years ago.

“All credit to Gordon for the way it's been handled himself with the interest in him.”
