Rene Meulensteen reckons his new-look Fulham squad are up for the relegation fight.

After offloading luxury players like Dimitar Berbatov, Adel Taarabt and Bryan Ruiz, the Craven Cottage chief has brought in signings who are ready to scrap for Premier League survival.

The Whites are bottom of the table, four points adrift of safety with just 14 games remaining to haul themselves clear of the drop zone.

But Meulensteen said: “Am I now looking for more fight? Absolutely. There’s no two ways about it.

“The only way to get out of this mess is to have a stack of totally committed players who want to work and do the necessary job.

"Because of where we are, the job has to change slightly. We have to be more disciplined defensively, more organised, instead of just flying forward.”
