Kit Symons has every reason to think fondly of clashes with Birmingham City.

His first win in charge as Fulham boss was a 2-1 away win over the Blues in September last year. He extracted another point when the two sides met back at Craven Cottage in February.

In fact, it's nearly six years since the side that plays at St Andrews have claimed all three points - a 1-0 win when Lee Bowyer scored a 16th minute winner to beat Roy Hodgson's side.

Now Symons is keen to keep the sequence going at home today.

Flashback: Hugo Rodallega celebrates the winner at St Andrews last season

He said: "I'm hoping my first win is a good omen.

"But that was a very different Birmingham team. Lee Clark was in charge then, and we met him a bit later when he was at Blackpool.

"Now they have Gary Rowett in charge. He’s a real bright manager and he's doing a great job there."

Fulham are literally hamstrung by having no recognised right-back available to them, while first-choice keeper Andy Lonergan is out for up to six weeks with a second hamstring injury.
