Fulham are wondering what they’ve done to deserve a second bizarre accident involving two of their players meeting head on in an injury clash.

Ben Pringle and Jazz Richards are suffering after the pair was laid low in a training ground incident at Craven Cottage this morning.

Barely three weeks ago, Whites lost keeper Marcus Bettinelli and forward Matt Smith in a collision during the 2-1 defeat Hull City.

Fulham boss Kit Symons reckons Pringle’s chances of lining up to face Blackburn on Sunday lunchtime are good, but was less certain about right-back Richards.

The gaffer added: “It was a lovely day on a lovely surface with everything going well until then.

“I think Ben will be OK, but we will have to wait until the morning to discover the extent Jazz’s injury, and whether swelling has gone down.”

New boy: Ryan Fredericks (R)

Symons admitted the signing of Ryan Fredericks from Bristol City just before the transfer deadline has reaped instant dividends.

“We always wanted competition for places, and a month ago I might have been sweating cobs after this latest injury," he added.

“But it shows we now have excellent competition for places all over the pitch.”

The Rovers visit comes too early for midfielder Scott Parker, still a way off match fitness, and besides Smith and Bettinelli, full-back Jack Grimmer has a surgical boot removed next week as he recovers from an ankle injury sustained in the Capital Cup win over Wycombe last month.
