Tom Cairney has been named in Scotland's World Cup qualifying squad to face England in June at Hampden Park.

The 26-year-old Fulham man got his first cap for the national side in their 1-1 draw with Canada in March, where he got the assist for Steven Naismith's equaliser at Easter Road.

He was on the bench for their 1-0 victory over Slovenia in their World Cup qualifier four days later where Chris Martin bagged the winner late in the tie.

Gordon Strachan's side currently sit in fourth place Group F, having won twice, lost twice and drawn once, while their opponents, England, are top having won four time and drawn once.

Cairney has impressed for Fulham this season and that has attracted the attention of a number of clubs, including Newcastle, but another call-up for Fulham's talisman is well deserved this year.
