Kit Symons is waiting on tenterhooks to see if he is the new permanent Fulham manager job while the club considers adding a director of football IF they award it to the caretaker boss.
GetWestLondon understands Alan Curbishley is in the frame to work with Symons should he get the nod. But the former Charlton manager is miffed at the treatment meted out to him in the disastrous spell when Rene Meulensteen took over last season.
Curbs and Ray Wilkins were brought in to shore up a sinking ship and were jettisoned just as quick when Meulensteen was released after just 74 days.
It’s also understood ex-Premier League bosses Chris Hughton and Steve Clarke have been sounded out for the Fulham job, but although Danny Murphy has indicated it's nearing journey's end for he and the rest of the five-man committee appointed to make the vital decision, they could delay the white smoke beyond the Whites clash with Norwich on Saturday.
