Chris Martin was reinstated and Fulham surged to a convincing 2-0 win over Barnsley at Craven Cottage.

The Whites have now lost only one of their last eight home games and a scintillating second-half performance, in which they created a host of clear chances, was the key factor in this victory.

Marks out of 10:

David Button 6 : The former Brentford stopper made a couple of high-profile errors earlier in the season due to overcomplicating his distribution, but he was noticeably pragmatic in this game. Saves from Hourihane and Watkins but nothing too strenuous.

Ryan Fredericks 7 : Caused real problems for his opposite number White in the first half without being able to find a team-mate’s run in the box with his final ball. Laid on chances for Martin and Aluko in the second half as the game opened up.

Provider: Ryan Fredericks

Tomas Kalas 7 : Chelsea loanee has played in six of Fulham’s seven clean sheets this season and he brought assurance to the backline on his return from a hamstring injury.

Tim Ream 7 : He was posed problems by the movement of Watkins and Winnall in the reverse fixture at Oakwell but was caused no such difficulties today.

Scott Malone 8 : An ambitious raider down the right flank and often found the feet of Martin with angled balls down the channel. Barnsley must be sick of the sight of him after eye-catching efforts in both games against them this season.

Kevin McDonald 8 : Stellar performance from a man who is quickly becoming instrumental to the pattern of Fulham’s play. Won the penalty.

Stefan Johansen 6 : A consistent presence in the middle of the park; his left-footedness offers a useful angle to switch the angle of attack. Had a great chance to score in the second half but flashed his shot across goal and wide.

Tom Cairney 7 : A bit of a nearly game for Cairney. He popped up with a couple of shots in the first half and was repeatedly denied by Davies in the second. Unhurried in possession.

Remember this at Oakwell earlier in the season?

Delight: Sone Aluko makes it 2-2 at Barnsley

Sone Aluko 8 : Stretched the game better than anyone on either side with his dribbling but he was another one who couldn’t quite produce with his final ball, despite consistently getting in great positions.

Lucas Piazon 7 : Not setting the world alight at the moment but this team would miss him if he wasn’t there. That’s why Whites fans will be pleased Jokanovic suggested he will be extending his loan deal from Chelsea until the end of the season this week.

CHRIS MARTIN 9 : He got the goal needed with a penalty late in the first half, yet it was his general play that caught the eye. Held the ball up superbly and was unselfish in setting up others, creating the goal for Malone.

Ryan Sessegnon, Scott Parker and Denis Odoi were brought on in the closing minutes of the game and had no impact on the game.
