Shahid Khan has warned Fulham manager Kit Symons that the Whites need rapid improvement.

The American billionaire is currently in London to watch Fulham as well as his NFL franchise the Jacksonville Jaguars.

And Khan attended the Cottagers' lacklustre draw with Leeds on Wednesday night, where fans were vocal in their discontent with the Welsh manager.

But while he refusing to discuss Symons’ future, he did declare his disappointment at the season so far.

"We've got some heavy lifting to do but I think we've got the resources to do that,” the 65-year-old said.

"We need to do better quite frankly, our goal is to finish in the top six."

Fulham have drawn three consecutive Championship matches and haven't picked up all three points since their 4-0 win against QPR nearly a month ago.

Fans have been vocal in their fury after three miserable seasons for the Cottagers, which has seen them fall from Premier League regulars to a mid-table Championship outfit.

And Khan says he is on the same page as the fans, and desperate for the Whites to storm up the league.

“It's a results driven business. I spoke to a bunch of our fans earlier and they want us to do better, and we want to do better.

"Our results are what they are but we have to start winning games to start picking up the pace right now.”

Symons was promoted to the role of manager as a replacement for Felix Magath after a hugely successful spell as caretaker manager, winning four games from a possible six, losing just once.

And the American owner insists he still has a good relationship with the manager and is backing him to replicate that form over a long period.

Khan said: "He's a wonderful man, he's a Fulham man and I like him a lot. We want him to succeed."
