ADEL Taarabt insists blame at Fulham should be laid at the feet of the players – and not sacked Martin Jol.

The midfielder was one of the very few who showed a bit of fight in the 3-0 defeat to West Ham on Saturday – a game in which the Whites failed to register a single shot on target.

The QPR loanee prodded and probed in the first half, but was virtually a spectator when Hammers thumped home their advantage after a lucky first goal from Mohamed Diame via a Fulham boot.

But Taarabt insists the manager was the fall guy for a torrid time that's seen the side beaten six on the bounce in all competitions.

He said: “What’s gone wrong? I don’t know.

“The manager was a great guy; always positive but at the moment it’s not happening.

“If you don’t win four or five or five games, the manager gets the blame – but I think the players should have this blame too.

“If we’re not doing what we should on the pitch, then the players should be asked the same questions as he was asked.”

Even though coach Rene Meulensteen steps up to the top job, It gets no easier with Fulham facing their second London derby in four days against Tottenham at home on Wednesday.
