Fulham winger Damien Duff will miss the rest of the season after having surgery on a niggling knee injury.

The 35-year-old, who is out of contract in the summer, hasn't featured since the FA Cup defeat against Sheffield United at the beginning of February.

Manager Felix Magath revealed earlier this month that the Irishman could miss the remainder of the campaign with the problem.

And the German boss has confirmed Duff will be sidelined for the next few months after going under the knife.

He said: "I think it’s the worst case. He has had the operation. I think we miss him for the rest of the season."
