Keeper Joe Lewis hopes to have given Fulham boss Kit Symons a selection headache following last night's 1-1 draw with Leeds United.

Lewis made his first league start since joining from Cardiff in the summer on a season-long loan, and but for a Chris Wood penalty, would have kept a clean sheet.

However, Lewis believes he had done enough that, when Andy Lonergan is fit again, he wont be walking straight back into the side.

He said: “Hopefully I've given the manager a decision to make. I'm pleased with my performance, but it's down to the manager. I want to play every game, but Lonners has done very well. It's down to the manager, but I feel like I've given him a tough decision.

“On a personal note, it was nice to make a few saves and have a decent game. It wasn't a great penalty, and I dived past it really. It's one of those things. You're not really expected to save penalties, but as I got to it, I was disappointed that it went in.”

Lewis also admitted that there was a disappointed dressing room after the game as Fulham failed to break through a resilient Leeds team looking to impress new boss Steve Evans.

He added: “We came into the game positive off the back of a good result at Middlesbrough, but we didn't deserve the win today because we never got started, which was frustrating.

“The way they set up was very aggressive and on the front foot. They pressed us very high, and our passing game just wasn't there. Nine times out of 10, teams of our quality will pass around that high pressing game, but the simple passes went astray, and it was one of those nights where nothing really clicked.”
