Slavisa Jokanovic expects Lucas Piazon to start training with the Fulham squad after their trip to Sunderland as he continues his recovery from a broken leg.

The Chelsea loanee has been out since the draw at Leeds but is working on the training pitch with the medical department at the club as he continues his rehabilitation from injury.

Meanwhile, there are now fresh injury concerns for the game with Birmingham City on Saturday, with Floyd Ayite still nursing a hamstring injury while Denis Odoi is suspended.

That means Tim Ream looks set to return to the starting XI after missing the past two games due to injury, having played every single minute in the league before that.

Speaking on injuries, Jokanovic said: "Lucas Piazon and Floyd Ayite are outside of the squad and Denis Odoi is suspended, that is it.

"We expect Piazon will be back working with the team after the Sunderland game.

"Piazon needs to start training with us, at the moment he's working separately with the medical department and physios.

"He's working hard and always shows great spirit, great desire to work and in this case to come back and at the end when we start working with him we must check and see how much time he will need to be available to help us in the pitch.

"I expect he will have opportunity to fight to be in the team who will compete."
