MARK Schwarzer has been ruled out for up to six weeks with a back injury.

The Australian keeper picked up the problem in Fulham's defeat at Swansea on Saturday, but boss Martin Jol was hopeful he would be fit for tonight's Europa League clash with Odense.

However, the 39-year-old saw a specialist yesterday afternoon, who confirmed he had suffered damage to his spine that will keep him out until the end of January.

The Whites have plugged the gap by triggering the recall clause in David Stockdale's loan deal at Championship outfit Ipswich Town.
