FULHAM fans have backed Mohamed Al Fayed's decision to name Mark Hughes as the new boss.

The former Blackburn and Man City manager pipped Swede Sven-Goran Eriksson to the post when he was confirmed as Roy Hodgson's successor this evening.

And supporters on the Cottage Corner messageboard have welcomed Hughes to SW6.

One commented: "Mark Hughes is a fantastic manager and I am proud yo have him at Fulham," while another added, "I am delighted Sparky will be our new manager, from this point upwards."

Some fans even wanted Hughes as boss before Martin Jol rejected the post, adding: "I wanted him over [Martin] Jol and my dream is coming true!"
