FULHAM fans have blasted Roy Hodgson 's decision to quit Craven Cottage to become the new Liverpool boss.

The 62-year-old resigned from his post in SW6 this morning after two-and-a-half years in charge.

During his time by the Thames, Hodgson brought the club from the brink of relegation to Europa League finalists.

But fans on Fulham forum Cottage Corner , have accused the former Inter Milan manager of being disloyal.

One supporter, commented: "I can't believe he's done this to us. He's improved year on year but the moment a so-called top-four club comes calling he ditches us.

"Although I'm grateful for the journey I'll never forgive him for leaving us in the lurch."

Another supporter believes Hodgson is no better than former fans' favourite Jimmy Bullard , who quit the club to double his wages when he joined Hull City, adding: "These two men (Bullard and Hodgson) are equal. Both left a club for money and both were disloyal."

But some think Hodgson made the right choice to jump ship to Anfield, and deserves a good reception when he returns to Craven Cottage on May 7: "I won't be booing him. He took us to a European final! We would all take a 'better' job if it was offered. He's only human."
