John Carver wants a return to management at Fulham, it’s reported.

The Newcastle United coach has been out of work after leaving Newcastle in the summer following death by a thousand cuts at St James Park when Alan Pardew quit to rejoin Crystal Palace.

Carver's troubled spell saw him lose a club Premier League record eight defeats on the bounce all the way to May this year.

But if the 50-year-old does join the short list formed by Whites chief football officer Mike Rigg, he could become the fourth man to both manage Fulham and Newcastle.

Carver even worked under Whites legend Bobby Robson at St James for a short spell in 2004.

The other three in the famous white and black of both clubs were Kevin Keegan and Duggie Livingstone, who went from United in 1954 after a two-year spell to take the helm at Fulham from January 1956 to May 1958.
