Sone Aluko says he can be as goods as he once was at Hull City - but it all depends on Slavisa Jokanovic.

The Fulham No 10 believes it’s a simple as the head coach picking him consistently after he left the KCOM Stadium i n the summer.

Aluko argues the reason he never returned to the Premier League highs of a 2012-13 season with Tigers where he scored eight in 18 is because he never again got the same run of games.

An Achilles injury scuppered the end of his season, and after that Hull bought big with plenty fighting for the same shirt.

“The first four games at Hull I didn’t score, and then in the next 18, I scored eight,” Aluko added.

Same again: Sone Aluko (L) and Chris Martin

“Maybe it's a bit like Chris Martin at Fulham now.

“Then I got injured and when I came back there was Nikica Jelavic, Shane Long, and the club had spent a lot of money on attackers.

“I never again played three games on the bounce until I left Hull.

“You can never consistency that way. Last season, I was playing one game a month.

“ ‘It becomes he was never the same again,’ and when it’s said over and over again - people believe it.

“A player in my position, needs a run of games. At Hull, we had so many attacking options in Hernandez, Diame, Snodgrass.

“But my form at Fulham now is a bit like it was at Hull when I started with them.”
