Fernando Amorebieta will miss Saturday's home clash with Championship leaders Norwich City - but the Fulham defender's knee injury isn't as bad as first feared.

The Venezuelan suffered the blow during the 2-0 defeat at Middlesbrough a fortnight ago and was expected to be out for a long period.

However, Kit Symons revealed Amorebieta could be back in a few weeks after making good progress during the international break.

He said: “Fernando’s still going to be out for a little while. We weren’t quite sure when he initially did it, it could have been quite nasty but it’s not as bad as first expected.”

Elsewhere, the Fulham caretaker has no fresh injury worries after his players returned from national service unscathed.

But Adam Taggart is still sidelined as he continues his rehabilitation from a groin injury.

Tickets for Fulham v Norwich City are on General Sale now, priced from £30 adults and £15 juniors.
